Nara - with family and friends

My mom volunteers at local place in Nara. She helps foreigners to learn Japanese


They are mainly from China, Philippine, and other Asian countries

While she was teaching, I went to Nara-machi. It is like an old city or down town
This is old ink store for special Japanese calligraphy art

There are so many charming "cafe" in this area. Cafe serves coffee, British tea, Japanese tea or all with simple food. They are very popular



YES! Crafts museum! and it's FREE!
"Akahada yaki" is the way/method artist around here use to create potteries.
It looks like prince Charles and Camilla visited here and signed the plate... They must have used traditional brush to sign...

This is a FM radio station
inside of the radio station. This plum tree is about 200 years old. the back ground music was BLUE GRASS! - that is why I noticed this place. I heard the music and had to check out what they do.

My mom's friend took us to this VERY DELICIOUS lunch! I even had a grass of GREAT white wine! I was in heaven!

This lunch course was about $25. Isn't it great??? There are bunch of places like this everywhere in Japan
HOWEVER, we went to coffee shop again to have some extra tea... Japanese says girls have extra stomach for desserts - I think that is right.

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL? Don't they explain why I gain weights every time I go home?

Well, this wasn't the end... since this was the only time my family could meet all together, I also met with my uncle, aunts and cousin for dinner...

IT WAS FANTASTIC DAY!!! but I will have to pay for it later....
