drive to Mie

Today, my mom wanted to go to a restaurant managed by high school culinary program. All workers are students. She heard about it on TV long time ago and is getting very popular. In order to beat everyone, we left home early with light breakfast. It is about 60 miles away.

took highway/interstate

My dad was stopped by a police on the way for following too close… about $60 fine with 1 point deduction. That’s not bad compare to my 12 points :)

Mie is the famous for the Ninja, Matsuzaka beef, Ise (shrine and sea), and Suzuka (car and motorcycle race.) We past them all and went to nowhere in the mountain

We got there about 10 am. 2 hours of drive. Our number was 53. Now serving #19.
To kill time, I started to walk around the country road. I found some wild flowers!!!

There was also farmer’s market nearby. Of course, I had to check it out.
Mie is by the sea, so there are things from sea to mountain. Wildflowers were sold there, too!
asisan pear, peach and blueberry

Goya, cucumber

green paper, eggplant
beans and ? herb?

daikon

gobou (root), sweet potato

pumpkin, and ???

home made miso

plum pickles

dried fish

We had to wait one hour. These are the food they serve. Very very typical Japanese style lunch. Japanese dish should have something boiled/simmer, roast/broil/bake, fried, and raw in addition to something with vinegar, hot soup and white rice. Very good wife will make small dishes (small portions) of those in every meal. Healthy isn’t it?

They also has program for baking.
Our number was 84. Almost sold out before us, but we got them!!!

Now, we just have to go home. My dad loves driving, so we took local streets to home.

Some more wildflowers on country road. There were entrances for hiking… I wish I could go!!

Natural springs are everywhere. We stopped to get some for tomorrow’s coffee

rice field

Got back home at 4 pm. Loved the drive and new flowers!
