5th & 6th of July

Let me tell you what happened on the way to the airport. After I passed the Lovell road exit, my car started to make big noises. The car was running, but the noise doesn’t stop… so I had to stop and check. Of course, the tire was busted. Big tear was hitting the car… should I stop and change the tire? Or should I keep going?..... I just kept going… I know it might damage the car, but surely it will be cheaper than paying another ticket to Japan… but, I didn’t go all the way to the airport like that. I was supposed leave my car at my friend’s house, but instead, I left it at Park West and my friend had to come pick me up there. I was so nerves, but I made it to the airport without losing too much time. Yes, things like that happen to me ALL THE TIME.

Thanks to Stephanie, I had a little extra time to enjoy the arts in the airport

on the way to Minneapolis / St. Paul Airport
a Big river and lots of ponds

Airport at Minneapolis / St. Paul was not too exciting. Not many stores there. Not that I was looking for something, but it will help if there were nice big duty free like Detroit… Instead of shopping, I did my wall push ups, biceps curls, triceps extension, upright row and lateral raises with my heavy bag in my heels. I didn’t care how it looked. That point, I was almost losing my mind from not sleeping the day before and waiting so long for next flight.

I-pod vending machine.

This is about all one side of duty free shop... other side was Tabaco and the other side was chocolate... Boring!

Airplane was packed as expected. After I seated in the airplane, I don’t remember anything for one hour; I slept as soon as I hit the seat. It is because I was exhausted, but I have weird body mechanism too. When airplane takes off, I lose consciousness or simply I pass out. It is not from the fear. I have to be very very very alert and have lots of coffee to stay awake during take off. I’ve flown so many times now, and seem to happen almost all the time.

Food was good this time. They served me more food than usual.

Later on, after I caught up with my sleep, I talked to the guys in next seats and found out that he was a professional boxer and going to Japan to fight with the world champion. I immediately told I train people and he showed me the pictures of training sessions. Oh, that was very impressive. He is from Dominican Republic and he trains in different states and countries. He was 166 pound 4 months ago, and now 132. He has to be 128 or something by Tuesday. I could really see the differences in his weight loss in the pictures. His personal trainer who also used to be a professional kick boxer was next to him and as soon as food was served, he immediately took unnecessary food (bread and sweets) away from the boxer. He could only eat protein, vegetables and fruits. I felt very bad cleaning up my plates next to him... He kept saying “until Tuesday”. WHAT A DISCIPLINE! He really inspired me to lose weight… after my trip :) He also had his business manager, and a nutritionist with him on this trip. He also showed me the picture of family in dominican republic. He said he takes care of kids in his gym by giving them clothing and equipment. Of course takes care of his families too. WHAT A GREAT GUY! By the way, he said he does 300+ crunches everyday and he has more than 6 packs in his abs. Surprisingly, he only trains 2 to 3 hours a day. I though they do more. He did offer me to come see the game in Tokyo, but I have family obligations and dental appointments this time… so I really wanted to go, but had to say no. I hope he wins the world championship!!!

From my apartment in Clinton to my home in Japan, it was about 26 hours of trip… I slept no problem
